  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Regenerating Nature Support Local Pollinators
Why is it important to take care of pollinators? Do you have a favorite pollinator?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 9:29 PM
Pollinators play a major role in the reproduction of flower and plant species and are key in allowing plants to produce things like fruits. One of my favorite pollinators is the honey bee. 🐝 🐝
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nourishing Food Forest-Friendly Foods
How did you figure out ways to remove foods that are not forest-friendly?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 8:42 PM
Several foods that are not forest-friendly include Palm Oil, Coffee, and Cocoa. Through my research, I found that the number one way to remove foods that are not forest-friendly is to simply not eat them or restrict them to small quantities. Using this way, we can slowly reduce our overall intake of these items and help preserve trees and the habitats they form.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Balancing Consumption Know My Waste & Recycling Services
What did you find surprising or hopeful in your research?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 8:38 PM
In my research, I have found many hopeful and inspiring things regarding the waste and recycling services in my area. Some of these include the fact that many waste facilities and dumps have been increasingly able to recycle a majority of the materials or send them to be turn into compost or other materials.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Regenerating Nature Is Nature on the Ballot?
What ballot measure are you interested in following through this election cycle and why?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 8:36 PM
So far in my research, I have not been able to find any current ballots or elections that have been put in any environment-related topics. Though I have found that the upcoming elections for positions like governors help influence and impact environment issues and laws due to changing of political positions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Regenerating Nature Calculate My Water Footprint
What is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 8:22 PM
One way that I will reduce my water usage is to install water-saving shower heads or flow restrictors to decrease the overall use throughout the duration of my shower. One current method/practice that I use to reduce my water use is to turn off the water when brushing my teeth. Even though this may seem like a small impact it can be compounded over time especially if an increasing number of people practice this small change throughout their daily lives.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Regenerating Nature Complete an Energy Audit
What most interested you, or surprised you about your energy audit?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 8:18 PM
The thing that interested me the most was the fact that we spend a higher amount of our energy on our heating and cooling systems compared to the electricity/energy needed to run electronic devices and lights.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Regenerating Nature Advocate for Forest Protection
Higher standards of living are very often dependent on moving our environmental costs elsewhere. What are some specific ways the environmental impacts of your own lifestyle might be shifted elsewhere?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 8:16 PM
Many times when we want to contribute toward a cause and donate to helping the environment (either time or money) we would have to adopt a lifestyle that has a lower standard and allows us to get by with our needs/necessities and not our wants. Some specific ways include shifting our focus to things like food and shelter and promoting it such that everyone across the world has these resources.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Nourishing Food Advocate for Equitable Food Access
What changes would help food insecure regions have access to local, seasonal foods? How can your choices contribute to these changes?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 8:12 PM
In order to help food-insecure regions have access to local and seasonal foods, together, as a community, we would have to pitch in to help by supplying and distributing the food across regions. Severals ways I can contribute to this change are by donating food or even transporting the food from one region to another. This would help promote an equitable access to food across regions of the world.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nourishing Food Donate Food
Why do you donate food? How does it connect to your values?

    Abhinav Anne's avatar
    Abhinav Anne 10/26/2022 4:00 PM
Donating food allows me to give back to my community and help others who may not have the food or resources needed to survive and sustain themselves or others. Throughout my life, I've been told to strive to find opportunities and ways to help others. Donating food ties back and connects to both my cultural and personal values and serves as one way that I can make an impact.
