Nourishing Food
Weekly Meal Planning
I will reduce food waste, excess carbon and save money by planning my daily and weekly menus so that I only purchase the ingredients needed.
Cultivating Communities
Pull Together Items to Donate
Each day, I will find one or more items I can donate to a local thrift or resale shop.
Cultivating Communities
Practice a Sharing Economy
Each day, I will engage in a sharing economy among my family, friends, and neighbors.
Regenerating Nature
Take Shorter Showers
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute or less showers. Tip: Use a timer to practice or count to 60 a few times.
Balancing Consumption
Know My Waste & Recycling Services
I will spend 30 minutes finding out how to recycle in my region, where landfills and/or waste sites are situated in my region, and which communities are most impacted by these sites.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Alison Heavener 10/20/2022 12:37 PMThis week I made a concerted effort to "under-buy" food and only buy what I knew I for sure would make. I have wasted far less food and though I've had to run to the store for last minute meals a few times, it feels good to have wasted less and a clean fridge to boot! -
Alison Heavener 10/20/2022 12:36 PMOver the weekend I culled my closets and donated a ton of clothes, shoes etc I wasn't using. I especially cleaned out books and brought them to little libraries in my neighborhood.
