I've thought about my windows and appliances before but there were a lot more parts of my home that I can make more energy efficient!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Enacting Equity Learn About Accessible & Equitable Voter Registration
Why is voting important to creating a just, sustainable, and thriving world? In what other ways can you actively participate in important decision-making?

    Veronica Joyce's avatar
    Veronica Joyce 10/25/2022 5:59 PM
Voting is important because the people in power make decisions about our environment and out society. We have to vote for people who have our best interest in mind
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Enacting Equity Learn About Trans, Femme, and Nonbinary Experiences
How is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?

    Veronica Joyce's avatar
    Veronica Joyce 10/25/2022 5:58 PM
A sustainable society means that all people and all experiences are included. If we leave out the experiences of trans, femme, and nonbinary people, we are not creating a sustainable community.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Enacting Equity Research Indigenous & First Nations Communities
Indigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, “most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation.” Why is balance important to sustainability? If you identify with or are a member of an indigenous community, how does your community practice sustainability?

Respecting the resources we get from the earth is so important. So we need to have a balance between what we give and take or we will just completely run out
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

In your community, how can you work to address systemic racism, sexism, ableism and additional forms of exclusion in the businesses?

My favorite way to shop local is to go to craft fairs. You can really see who is doing the work and learn about the business owners.

I recently repaired a rip in a pair of jeans. I used some denim from a previous pair of jeans that I had cut into shorts! Felt good to repair and it made me glad I hung onto those denim scraps!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Regenerating Nature Take Shorter Showers
With 5-minute or less showers reducing your water footprint, what do you plan to add next to your water conservation habits?

    Veronica Joyce's avatar
    Veronica Joyce 10/20/2022 8:17 PM
I made a playlist for shorter showers. It's about 7 minutes long and the different songs let me know how much time I have left!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Regenerating Nature Use Resources for Climate Anxiety
Is climate anxiety a new concept for you or something you have been following for sometime?

    Veronica Joyce's avatar
    Veronica Joyce 10/13/2022 9:46 AM
It's not a new concept but I've never really learned about it before. It was also interesting to learn about climate grief due to the loss from climate change.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Balancing Consumption What is Sustainable Fashion?
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Veronica Joyce's avatar
    Veronica Joyce 10/11/2022 9:16 AM
I like to buy second hand clothes or do clothing swaps with my friends. New to me doesn't have to be brand new. I also like to take apart clothing I no longer wear and sew it into something new!
