Layne McDonald 10/14/2022 9:00 PMI am enjoying all the podcasts that are out there on Apple and Sound Cloud. I feel like I am growing a lot just by the daily commute. Taking in good quality educational materials from and to work has been great. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food What is My Food Supply Chain? What was the most surprising part of your food supply chain? Are there any problem areas that you are able to fix?
Layne McDonald 10/06/2022 1:25 PMWe are going to farmers' markets for more of our food sources instead of Krogers or being mindful of a local farmer and organic options at regular stores. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Calculate My Water FootprintWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?

REFLECTION QUESTIONNourishing Food Research the Benefits of Agricultural BiodiversityWhat are the benefits of agricultural biodiversity and how do you see this connecting to overall biodiversity?
Layne McDonald 10/06/2022 1:22 PMWe are reusing old playground pieces in our backyard, starting a roach hotel with old bottles (where worms, snails, and outdoor critters live - my kids are like that) - and we are remaking our old plant areas in our back yard into sandboxes, rock collections, and a fun place for the kids to feel and learn about nature.-

REFLECTION QUESTIONCultivating Communities Share My Habits & ActionsWhat was the most fun or joyful way you have seen others share their positive sustainability actions and habits?
Layne McDonald 10/06/2022 1:15 PMWe have a homeschool group that gets together every week and we have started a to-do list for the week with the other parents. What can they give up for a week? What can they give that isn't useful this week to another family with younger kids? It's been a bonding experience, more than we thought it would be. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCultivating Communities Pull Together Items to DonateHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Layne McDonald 10/06/2022 1:13 PMWe have SO MANY baby clothes, bottles, and foster care "gear" that we have used over the past five years. We gave a lot of it to other foster parents last week, donated to Once Upon A Child consignment, and are looking through even more stuff in our storage... garage to see what else we can be a blessing to others with - instead of throwing it away. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBalancing Consumption Develop a Work-Life BalanceHow does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?
Layne McDonald 10/06/2022 1:12 PMForcing myself to QUIT at 5, no matter what. "That is what tomorrow is for." is a quote from a talented person on my team. I am living that and making it a promise to go home, and be 100% there, no matter what is going on at work. Peace :) -
Layne McDonald 10/06/2022 1:10 PMHere we go!!! :) Let's go, team. I am setting aside night time movies and tv to learn about the environment and how my family can do even more.
