I am enjoying all the podcasts that are out there on Apple and Sound Cloud. I feel like I am growing a lot just by the daily commute. Taking in good quality educational materials from and to work has been great.

We are going to farmers' markets for more of our food sources instead of Krogers or being mindful of a local farmer and organic options at regular stores.

We are reusing old playground pieces in our backyard, starting a roach hotel with old bottles (where worms, snails, and outdoor critters live - my kids are like that) - and we are remaking our old plant areas in our back yard into sandboxes, rock collections, and a fun place for the kids to feel and learn about nature.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

We have a homeschool group that gets together every week and we have started a to-do list for the week with the other parents. What can they give up for a week? What can they give that isn't useful this week to another family with younger kids? It's been a bonding experience, more than we thought it would be.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Cultivating Communities Pull Together Items to Donate
How can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?

We have SO MANY baby clothes, bottles, and foster care "gear" that we have used over the past five years. We gave a lot of it to other foster parents last week, donated to Once Upon A Child consignment, and are looking through even more stuff in our storage... garage to see what else we can be a blessing to others with - instead of throwing it away.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Balancing Consumption Develop a Work-Life Balance
How does practicing a work-life balance create a more sustainable life for you? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

Forcing myself to QUIT at 5, no matter what. "That is what tomorrow is for." is a quote from a talented person on my team. I am living that and making it a promise to go home, and be 100% there, no matter what is going on at work. Peace :)
