Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

One of the benefits of participating in this challenge is I am thinking about completing my actions throughout the day. My co-worker ordered a burger for lunch and though it was virtual, the idea of a burger was tempting. I remembered my challenge and had a pizza instead. Not perfect but it is meatless.

I watched Gather on Netflix last night. I recommend watching it to learn how indigenous peoples harvested the land and ate what nature provided.

It was a beautiful fall day today! Feels like cheating to submit being outside today for points!

So I have accepted I am not going to get rid of my pandemic weight gain. I've pulled together several work outfits - one of my favorite lace skirts - and they are packed for donation.

So it's not an action but my school district is streaming the debate for our board of education candidates. I usually wouldn't, but a parent sent a reminder in our group chat and I thought about the ecochallenge and increased community involvement.  I am now watching the debate.

I made lunch instead of ordering takeout simply for convenience. Also, my son's Halloween costume didn't come in for his friend's party tomorrow. Usually, I would have reacted to his tears and gone to the store and bought a new one. Then we talked about wants and needs, and he stopped crying and agreed he would wear his costume from last year.

My youngest is growing out of his clothes and I am setting them aside to donate. I am also doing the same for my daugther. In turn, I reuse hand-me-downs from my nieces and nephews before I think about buying new clothes for the kids.

I told the kids about our ecochallenge and the whole family is participating. We were at the store and my youngest wanted to buy something and my daughter asked him, "Do you need this? Remember our challenge!"
I've wanted to buy a new headboard simply for a change. I asked myself do I need this? I've only looked at pictures and made no purchases.

This is probably TMI for my team - but saved water today by skipping a shower since I was working from home. This is a lot for me - I'm a shower 2x a day kind of person!
