Tara's actions
Balancing Consumption
Less Screen Time
I will replace 30 minute(s) of screen time each day with other activities.
Balancing Consumption
Needs Vs. Wants
Each day, I will practice a "Needs Vs. Wants" approach and only buy things I need.
Nourishing Food
Stop Food Waste by buying "Imperfect" Items
Imperfect Foods.com rescues otherwise edible produce and other food items from being discarded simply because the markets and restaurants reject slight color or size differences, packaging misprints or overstock excess. I purchase a box of rescued food items from them twice a month.
Nourishing Food
Forest-Friendly Foods
I will spend 20 minutes learning about palm oil, coffee, cocoa, and other products known to contribute to deforestation, and replace or remove them.
Regenerating Nature
Calculate My Water Footprint
I will calculate my water footprint and look for a few ways I can reduce consumption or waste.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

REFLECTION QUESTIONRegenerating Nature Calculate My Water FootprintWhat is one way you will reduce your water use? What is a practice you already have that helps you reduce your water use?
Tara Sitser 10/11/2022 11:46 PMAlready a part of our family's habits are 1. We delay doing laundry until we have fuller loads 2. We do not water the landscape where once was grass. 3. I wash my car only very rarely. -
Tara Sitser 10/07/2022 6:07 PMI have joined the Ecochallenge as an extension of my work as a Leadership Team member of the Climate Reality Project, San Fernando Valley chapter. My journey as an activist began as a 5-year-old seeing a circus on TV and wondering why people were being so mean to the animals. That question has lasted to this day when, as an older adult, I mourn the loss of the calm, year-round moderate temperatures and clear, blue skies of my childhood. And I live with a growing concern about the safety of the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe. My focus is on supporting the global Rights of Nature movement.
