George Unruh 10/21/2022 8:10 AMFinished listening to the book The 1619 Project. Very insightful. Unveils the history that is hidden from the general history of the United States. Backing that up with Becoming Kin by Indigenous writer Patty Krawec who also presents a history that is contrary to the general one we hear. How can we go about creating history books that incorporate the common history of the U.S.? Seems we would gain from that to truly become a nation for All The People

George Unruh 10/13/2022 3:34 PMResearched the immigration and land laws in effect when my father's side of the family immigrated into the U.S. Basically the Dawes Act, which divided up Indigenous land through allotment, enabled my family to come and as farmers take over land that belonged to Indigenous People and the Indigenous People who were forced to move to Kansas and Oklahoma in the late 19th century. -
