I see that our trash is even slower to accumulate when we compost. It’s a transition for the family though; I’m finding a few items that need to be moved from trash to compost 😁

Give yourself and family time. After some time with composting and recycling I find I have less and less trash. I now average taking out one bag of trash every other week.

How did you figure out ways to remove foods that are not forest-friendly?

I read the information about several products we consume and was pleased to see that most of them have forest-friendly and fair trade practices. I have inquired more specifically about certifications held by  LifeBoost coffee, as their claims seem consistent with the standards outlined. I forwarded the article about tires to my tire-buying husband; he not only buys for the family cars but also a large fleet of commercial vehicles. I definitely see an opportunity to minimize consumption of foods that aren’t forest-friendly by not eating out and eliminating processed foods from our shopping trips. And I’m just drawing the line now - no cocaine permitted on the premises (a girl’s gotta have limits!)
