Balancing Consumption Know My Waste & Recycling Services
What did you find surprising or hopeful in your research?

In our area there is not a local recycling place. Just one for bottles. The dump in town does do it’s part to sort and they have a space where things could be repurposed or fixed and the inmates come and fix them- or they take them to the local prison… all items repaired get sold at the youth ranch. Pretty interesting.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Enacting Equity Shop at BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Disabled, & Women-Led Businesses!

    Gina Dullanty 10/15/2022 9:09 PM
By shopping local and supporting women owned businesses and businesses owned by other races, etc. we can address and include those businesses.

We went today to a local shop owned by women- it was quaint and wonderful and I loved all her stuff.

Spent my birthday exploring. We found a local lake and went on an impromptu hike. The weather was perfect, there was barely anyone there and we are so stoked to have found this hidden gem- AND wildlife refuge!

Can’t wait to go back! Easy hike and lots more area to explore! 💚

    Gina Dullanty 10/12/2022 8:29 PM
We’ve stopped watering our lawn, we’ve been washing dishes by hand- conserving the energy and water from a dishwasher, washing clothes on cold and with full loads… now onto what’s next…

    Nourishing Food Weekly Meal Planning
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

With prices on the rise saving money and spending it on other needs is where it’s at. 👌🏻
I have noticed when I map out the week (in regards to meal prep and planning) I can stay within a budget. When we just go to the store and I get stuff for dinner my budget goes out the window and my weeks worth of food budget goes to one days worth of snacks and junk!

Meal planning and prep isn’t just great for healthier choices and food waste but for your wallet too!
