REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureWhy are old refrigerant gases so harmful to our environment?
elizabeth ehrhart 10/16/2025 11:02 AMThe freons we take for granted to cool our homes is actually depleting the ozone layer which protects us from the suns harm and other things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergyHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
elizabeth ehrhart 10/10/2025 6:09 AMI have read that Duquesne power is sourced from solar, wind & geothermal.
Having lights on everywhere outdoors disturbs the natural cycles of insects, we are rapidly losing our insect population and need to be more aware of the lights burning outside. Insects play an extremely important role in our life cycle. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWho inspired you on the feed, and why? Did you meet anyone new, learn anything exciting, or discover a new perspective?
elizabeth ehrhart 10/09/2025 4:57 AMThis challenge is new to me and reading what others are doing or have experienced, educate me.-
Mary Hanks 10/09/2025 11:14 AM- Pet Parent 🐾
Reading the feed is one of my favorite parts of these Ecochallenges! I learn so much, and, like others who've replied, I'm inspired by knowing what others have accomplished. I've made email pals from distant areas and been able to meet up in person with other environmentalists in my area through connections made here. -
Amy Sarno 10/09/2025 8:38 AMI'm also new to the challenge and reading what others are doing has helped inspire me to take actionable steps and to realize and value what I was already doing. -
Anan Srivilai 10/09/2025 8:25 AM- Adventurer 🏔
I agree to this as well. Other's letting us know what they have read/watched/experienced can help me and other's learn something new that we weren't aware of. -
Kimi Witherell 10/09/2025 7:13 AM- Adventurer 🏔
I agree! I think this platform has made me a lot more proactive with my environmental footprint and education.

Anan Srivilai 10/08/2025 1:36 PM- Adventurer 🏔
I only get about 6-8 hours of sleep but don't really calm myself before me going to bed to sleep better. I will need to adjust my bedtime routine to improve my sleep time at night.

elizabeth ehrhart 10/03/2025 6:59 AMThere is a video called, "A class divided". It breaks down racism into very simple forms, blue eyes or brown eyes.
A teacher, Jane Elliot a day after the murder of Martin Luther Jr. began the exercise with her elementary class.
It clearly shows how groups are discriminated against by something that makes them different from some others.
The video was from Frontline shown on PBS.-
Megan Gonzales 10/03/2025 11:21 AM- Book Lover 📚
I’ve watched that video a few times in different psychology and sociology classes! She does a great job getting the kids to understand. It was fun to see them come back years later and discuss how it changed their views going forward.
