I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Nature

Transportation
Commute By Bike
I will commute by bike 3 miles each day and avoid sending CO2 into Earth's atmosphere.
Transportation
Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
I will spend at least 15 minutes researching and weighing my options to see if a hybrid or electric vehicle makes sense for my lifestyle.
Transportation
Car Share with Neighbors or a Service
I will sign up for a car-sharing service or organize car sharing with my neighbors, to cut down on the number of vehicles on the road.
Energy
Heat and Cool Naturally
I will naturally heat and cool my house, office, or dorm room by opening or closing my windows, curtains, and blinds, and by using fans.
Energy
Participate in Guelph Greener Homes program for upgrading to energy efficiency measures
In support of Race To Zero, the City plans to offer a 0% interest loan to residential property owners in Guelph to help cover the costs of residential energy efficiency upgrades to be paid back over 10 years. Find out if you are eligible for the low-income grant program for installing heat-pumps
Waste
Complete a Personal Waste Audit
I will collect all of my unrecyclable, non-compostable trash to raise my awareness of how much I send to the landfill. I will share a photo and reflection of this action on the feed.
Community
Make Sure You are Registered to Vote
I will make sure I’m registered to vote. While I’m at it, I’ll sign up to help others register too!

Racial inequity is both a sustainability and justice problem. I will support businesses owned by people of color in my community whenever I shop.
Health
Learn How War and Conflict Impacts People and the Planet
Wars and conflicts have devastating consequences—not only for people and communities, but also for ecosystems, biodiversity, and the climate. What a beautiful picture! This park looks serene. Like a place to sit at for hours—reading, day dreaming, or journaling. A picnic would be wonderful too. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicityWhat are some of the barriers to sharing economies? What is your plan for supporting or creating one in your community?
terter Terter 10/23/2025 11:15 AMsometimes it is challenging to develop a sharing economy as you may found something/some work that is time sensitive, and you will need the resources right away that may not be available at the sharing community; i found there is a tools sharing place at Old Quebec Street Shoppes, i registered myself and will think of this place when i need some tools and need not urge myself to buy one first -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
terter Terter 10/23/2025 11:06 AM- Foodie 🍱
with the connection to the nature world, it can definitely improve mood, and mental well being and it connects to our physical health overall too. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureRachel Carson said that we need the beauty and mysteries of the natural world for our spiritual and emotional development. Does that ring true for you? What are the implications for a culture that spends most of its time indoors?
terter Terter 10/23/2025 11:00 AM- Foodie 🍱
Yes, for sure the nature calm people down like mentally, i mean at least for myself, i feel relax during and after hiking, feeling like the troubles have been gone for at least a while. people have the tendency to stay indoor using their mobile phone now, it can bring more mentality issue like depression or something i guese. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityA recent Keen Independent Research Foundation study found that Minority Businesses Enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you work to address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?

If you add a little to a little, and then do it again, soon that little shall be much! i want to be part of that adding little by little to contribute to the environment we are living in -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?
terter Terter 10/07/2025 10:38 AM- Foodie 🍱
Plant trees take physical effort, there going to be a lot of sweating plating the tree = good for your physical health and looking at green just simply calm people down and make people feel relax, isnt it ?-
Arturo Mancilla 10/07/2025 11:32 AMPlanting trees involves physical movement—digging, carrying, and lifting—which can contribute to cardiovascular health, improved strength, and flexibility. Regular physical activity in fresh air also promotes better sleep and energy levels.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhy is it often difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places?
terter Terter 10/07/2025 10:27 AM- Foodie 🍱
