Recent updates from this team-
October 30 at 8:07 AMThe eco challenge is almost over and I'm realizing I am holding out on one action in particular: changing some lightbulbs over to LED. This requires me to go around the house, assess which lighting needs to be changed, get the bulb size, go to the store and get the new bulbs, come home and replace them. We need prompts like this to make actual...

October 30 at 7:54 AMTransitioning away from fossil fuels can benefit everyone. Specifically, in my area, we are prone to flooding, drought, and now, fire. Decreasing GHGs reduces global warming and the threat of severe weather events. A renewable, resilient grid is absolutely necessary in my community -- not just for environmental reasons, but for social...

October 30 at 7:34 AMIt was pretty easy and actually saves money. Do it!
-
October 23 at 12:19 PMI learned about the superfund sites near us and realized there is one only a block away from my house where the old hospital used to be.
-
October 23 at 11:55 AMBefore going on vacation to Maine, I made sure my heat was shut off and I disconnected all outlets -- phantom energy is bad! And we don't need Wi-Fi if we're not there! It's the little things.
-
October 23 at 11:53 AMThat's extremely messed up. We must keep supporting each other and not big business.
-
October 23 at 11:50 AMWe recently held a virtually check-in over Teams and it was really nice to hear each other's stories. Sometimes it's easy to feel isolated in this work, but knowing your colleagues have similar concerns and are committed to learning makes this so much easier. Keep chuggin away, folks!

October 23 at 11:48 AMDid you know that 75% of our food crops need pollination? That means, without pollinators, we would be very hungry! Not only us, but many other species. Pollinators are essential to biodiversity. I am making it my mission to decrease the use of pesticides and increase pollinator habitat where I can.

October 22 at 3:28 PMI regularly volunteer in my community at my local library and virtually through ESW HQ! I love volunteering in my spare time! Also, with my connection to the library I get to hear about all the fun adult crafts and was able to make a spooky ghost scene painting and a bat keychain!

October 22 at 3:25 PMI have been vegetarian since April 2021. Recently, I started eating chicken again which allowed for a healthier lifestyle. Even though I will sometimes eat meat, I enjoy my meatless meals I cook at home regularly! My favorite new recipe I tried was cheesy asparagus and orzo!! :)
